Omega 3 Granola

This recipe is for a healthier version of granola, with the added benefit of nuts and seeds to provide some omega 3 essential fatty acids. Delicious sprinkled on top of fruit and yoghurt, for a nutritious start to the day. Good for busy mums and fussy eaters alike!


150g whole rolled oats

30g walnuts

30g pecans

50g sunflower seeds

50g pumpkin seeds

25g sesame seeds

30g milled flax seed or chia

1tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp ginger

grated nutmeg

zest of an orange.



  1. Chop the nuts roughly
  2. Add the oats and nuts to a large frying pan and toast gently
  3. Toss in all of the seeds, sprinkle with the cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg and mix together thoroughly to ensure its completely combined.
  4. Finish by adding the orange zest, stirring though to ensure it is evenly distributed.
  5. Allow to cool in the frying pan and transfer to a glass jar for storage.
